Me and My Big Ideas

After a month of planning, ordering, acquiring, and worrying, I decided to take the plunge and put up the picture wall.  The idea was to decorate a rather large wall in our living room.  I've been putting it off, waiting for Keith to feel up to the challenge.  Today, I decided to just do it myself.

First, of course, I gathered my materials.  Notice the lack of a laser level...I went old school:  pencil and 24 inch yellow level.  (Thanks, Dad!)
Then, I carefully measured and hung my first picture.  Unfortunately, the super-bargain frames from Target had hangers that were very user-unfriendly.
It was at about this point in the process that I remembered (realized?) that picture frames and the actual pictures are two different sizes.  Doh!  Improvise, adapt, overcome.  After realizing this, I revised my plan & remeasured, and hanging the large pictures went rather smoothly.  The 8x10s gave me fits, however.  Keith will not be happy when he sees the marks and holes behind those pictures.
