My new duvet and shams arrived from Pottery Barn today, and I think they look great. Not only do they look fabulous, but they also fit with my vision of what my house should "feel" like. (I can't explain that one to Keith, though...it's too out there!) However, buying a new duvet and shams is a little like the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie because now I'm thinking that I would like a new cotton blanket and pillowcases for a pop of color. Also, now that I've updated the bed linens I need to update the shower curtain in the master bath. The modern print that's in there now totally clashes.
If you give a girl a new duvet, she's going to want new shams...
When she gets new shams, she's going to need a blanket and pillowcases and a shower curtain.
